"Light
is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart."
(Psalm 97:11 NIV)
A good friend of mine told me long ago in a
meditation, that she had been wandering down a long, black tarmac road. As she
walked there and saw the darkness in front of her, she thought it symbolized
her dreary life at that moment. The road ahead seemed endless, and permeated by
darkness.
Suddenly she
discovered that the asphalt that appeared so black and gloomy, actually
consisted of small, small stones, that if one gazed at them carefully, actually
shifted in the most diverse and beautiful colors. Then she remembered what is
written in today's scripture. It says almost verbatim that light is sown for the righteous, and suddenly she could see with
different eyes, anew, the path of life she had in front of her.
Prayer
Lord help me today to discover and take
advantage of the light and joy that you have sown for me. Thank You for
blessings both small and great.
