February 1

“… today the LORD will appear to you.'" And they brought what Moses commanded in front of the tent of meeting, and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD. And Moses said, "This is the thing that the LORD commanded you to do, that the glory of the LORD may appear to you…And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, and when they came out they blessed the people, and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.” (Leviticus 9:4-6, 23)

In today’s Bible passage a pattern can be discerned for how God acts. 1) Promise: God promises Moses that he will reveal His glory to the people. 2) Obedience: The people do what the Lord has commanded. 3) Prayer: Moses and Aaron went before the Lord. 4) God’s blessing is passed on: Moses and Aaron go out and bless – they do, speak and think good about and to the people. 5) The fulfillment of the promise. The Lord reveals his glory to all the people.
This is how God is communicating with His people even today. Often His promises to us are tied to a mission or an urgent request. If you do this, I will do that. If we want to see the fulfillment of the promise, we must do our part. Then we must seek the Lord and pass on the blessing that we receive. And the Lord will fulfill His promise to us.

Prayer
Lord, help me today to hear what you promise and help me to obey. I want to live in Your presence today, and the blessing that I receive I will pass on to others when and as You lead me. Thank You that You will show us Your glory!
