April 20

"… he is the living God; he endures forever; He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders” (Daniel 6:26-27)

In yesterday’s meditation I shared about Eva who was saved in a prayer meeting at youth camp. The following night we had another prayer meeting and all were assembled. I sat and prayed for Eva that God would confirm His love for her in a way other than simply through me and my words. As I sat and prayed one of the older young people’s leaders who had been a Christian for a long time came up to me and shared that Eva had come to her and asked that they might pray together. The youth leader assumed Eva wanted to be prayed for, but suddenly Eva began praying for the youth leader’s need. Eva who could not possibly have known anything of the youth leader’s situation, was able to pray words of healing that pierced her heart.
It makes no difference if we have been Christians for long or only a short period of time. If we follow the Holy Spirit’s direction we can be instruments for God Himself and be His messengers to others.

Prayer
Lord, you have performed so many wonders among us but sometimes we don’t recognize you in that which happens. Sometimes we think it’s simply a human impulse that make us act in a certain way. But You have promised that if we ”extract the precious from the worthless”, we will serve as Your spokesmen. Help us to recognize Your Holy Spirit’s leading today.
