”…unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think…” (Ephesians 3:20 KJV)

Man has a natural tendency to think that God isn’t able or at least not sufficiently able. This easily creates grounds for a lack of faith and causes us to turn to people instead of God when needing help. When those around us are then unable to fulfill our needs we become disillusioned with them. Our disillusionment leads to a distancing which in turn causes people to withdraw. We end up in a vicious circle where we detest both ourselves and them, who we feel have failed us, and they loose all interest in sharing fellowship with us.
Just think if we could instead accept God’s promise that He is able. In my childhood home we had an embroidered picture with just those words: ”HE IS ABLE!” What a wonderful truth for all to carry throughout life.

Prayer
Help me Lord, to not seek from others that which only You can give. Thank You that You are able to give more than I can ask or think.
