”… with supplications will I lead them." (Jeremiah 31:9 ASV)

God makes many promises in the Bible stating that He wants to live among His people, and that He wants to guide them throughout life. In today’s Bible verse there are conditions tied to God’s promise of guiding us. In a Swedish Bible translation it says that God will lead them ”where they go prayerfully forward”.
God’s promise isn’t that He will lead us if we happen to prayerfully ask only for matters deemed proper and pleasing to Him, or if we pray using a certain correct method. No, He says that the only pre-condition for Him to lead us is that we make ourselves available to Him, that we are in constant contact with Him, that – we come to Him prayerfully. The same theme is found in the letter to the Romans 8:26 where it is written, ”We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express."

Prayer
Lord, help me to come to You prayerfully today and to be receptive to your voice in all that happens. Thank you for guiding me even in my prayers.
