”He
appointed twelve—designating them apostles—that they might be with him and that
he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons.” (Mark 3:14-15 NIV)
Today’s Bible verses show that there are
very precise steps as it concerns our service for God. First be with him, then preach and ’drive out’.
In order for our preaching and service to have any spiritual power it must begin
with that, we spend time with Jesus. It’s only if we live in His presence and
learn from Him that our spiritual service can have any authentic meaning
what-so-ever.
Prayer
God help me today to live so close to You,
to follow so nearly in Your tracks, that I am responsive and willing to enter
into the spiritual service needed just where I ’live’ today.
