"... the reality, however, is found in Christ." (Colossians 2:17 NIV))

If you have been to the theater or opera at some point, you have certainly, as I was, been fascinated by the incredible scenes that were erected on the stage. Everything is so lifelike – a house facade, a water well on a street, even an entire city. Sometimes you really experience the feeling that you are in the midst of a real event.
On a study visit to the opera house in Oslo many years ago, I had come close to this kind of scenery and it became so clear, that what appeared from the main auditorium like depth and space in perspective, was really just an illusion.
Sometimes people's lives are as though in a drama. It takes place on a stage. Everything seems to be real, true and pleasing, but when you get beyond the surface, one can understand that what we thought was the depth and perspective in their lives, was just scenery.
Today's scripture verse talks about reality - the true life, which is only found in Jesus Christ. It is only when we let Him into our lives that life really begins to make sense, and is not just a drama that’s played out over several years, and then forgotten.

Prayer
Lord, help me to live today in the reality that only is found in You. Thank you for wanting to provide a goal and meaning to my life today. I invite You, and I ask You to be part of everything that happens in my life today.
