“O you
who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come. When iniquities prevail against
me, you atone for our transgressions. Blessed is the one you choose and bring
near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your
house, the holiness of your temple!” (Psalm 65:2-4)
Pure worship does something to those who witness it. Many times we have experienced that people have been deeply moved by our songs of worship and praise. Once, as we were singing praises, a woman cried out: “What are you doing? I can’t stand sitting here and listen to you.” Then she rushed out of the room. But a little while later this woman was saved.
On
another occasion we had a meeting in Iceland. A Swedish exchange student
participated in the meeting. She had never before been to a Christian meeting,
but she accompanied a friend. When we had been singing praises for about 25
minutes, she felt that she had to leave the meeting. She could not take it
anymore. Afterwards her friend told us that she was crying uncontrollably. She
said to her friend: “I have never, never seen so many happy people and it hurt
so much”. I pray that by today she will have found her way to Jesus, so she can
participate in the songs of praise herself. And as for me – I will just keep on
singing!
Prayer
Thank you Lord, hat we may sing songs of praise and uplift Your name among the people. Thank You, that with Your Holy Spirit You are at work, touching people deep down in their hearts when we, who know You, glorify Your name.
