”And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit” (Ephesians 1:13)

Christian faith begins when we hear the Word of Truth. The next step is when we come to a belief in it. The result is that we receive the promised Holy Spirit as a seal.

Many people today want to separate their Christian experience from what is written in the Bible. However, if we do not use the Bible’s message as our foundation – the Good News that man can be saved - we are completely wrong in that which we witness to is not Christianity.

At the same time, there are people who read the Bible as though it were just another book. One studies and analyses with one’s human understanding. Then too, one misses the mark.

But if we hear the Word and believe it in our heart, God moves into our life with His Holy Spirit and we become partakers in His life and God Himself directs us to the Truth.

Prayer
Lord, today I will read Your Word – the Bible, and listen to your voice when you speak to me. Thank You that You have a message for me today. Help me to see my way to that which You wish to say, whether it be encouragement, admonishment or trust.
