” They were amazed at his teaching, because his message had authority.…” (Luke 4:32)

When Jesus walked the earth and taught those that listened sensed that His words had power. His words penetrated deep into the heart’s inner sanctum. The Bible teaches that God’s Word, the Bible, in the same vein is “living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow” (Heb 4:12).

 In the same manner that Jesus’ words struck people who wanted to listen to Him then, the Words can impact you and me today provided we are willing to receive the message. The people who listened to Jesus only heard a small portion of His teaching; nonetheless, they were deeply moved. When we read the Bible we can only receive a small portion each day, but God Himself wants to stir us through that which we read if we do so with an open mind.

Prayer
Thank You Jesus for a new day when I can come before Your face anew. Open my heart to the living and active words that You, through the Scriptures will inject into my life today.
