July 24

”But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.” (2 Corinthians 2:14 NIV)

During the summer half of the year one can stroll through a neighborhood and enjoy an assortment of nature’s fragrances. And it’s also quite common to suddenly come upon the smell of a BBQ grill. Nothing awakens the hunger pangs like the smell of a BBQ grill. It heightens and creates expectancy. One is tempted to head straight home and eat something tasty following such an experience.
I wish we Christians were people who cast off and spread a Christ-fragrance that would draw and create a 'longing and hunger’. Imagine if my presence in a group could light a flame - a desire to learn to know Jesus; in order that others can’t help themselves but to seek a personal experience in learning Who He is.

Prayer
Jesus, let me live today so close to You that I spread Christ-fragrance in all directions… Let my life create that unique hunger for You, that can only be satisfied through a personal meeting with You alone.
