”He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge…”
( Isiah 33,6a )

Devotion:
None of us knows what the future holds. No one knows how many days remain in the future or, if there is but a moment; the blink of an eye. We can plan and speculate on how we’d like the future to be, but somewhere within us we know that we don’t own a single minute of the time that hasn’t yet arrived. Some of us are made painfully aware early on that nothing is gained in building one’s life on money and material belongings, or on a carreer or personal development. All of that can collapse and be lost in an instant. Any of us can suffer from illness, unemployment or personal bankruptcy. The only sure thing on which to build one’s life is God. His Son, Jesus Christ created this world. Paul says, ”He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” (Coll. 1:17 NIV) He is the secure ground on which people should build their lives.

Prayer:
Thank you Jesus that You, who holds the whole world in your hands, also grants absolute assurance for my future, and are the foundation on which I can build my life.
